Tom Neill

 

Tom grew up in Wokingham, Berkshire and spent his early years performing with community drama and music groups. He studied Music with Theatre Studies at Huddersfield University.

His acting credits include Sir John French in
Oh What A Lovely War, Trofimov in The Cherry Orchard, Givola in The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, Raymond in Blue Remembered Hills (all Blackeyed Theatre), Don’t Look Back (dreamthinkspeak), Kaspar in Kaspar (Atom Theatre), Mason in Journey's End (J.D. Productions), Montmorency in Three Men In A Boat, Mole in The Adventures of Mr. Toad (both South Hill Park), Theatre In Education tours with Bitesize Theatre Company and pantomimes for various companies.

 

His media work includes Lenny Denton in The Bill (ITV1), Nelson’s Trafalgar (BBC) and various characters in Zoogleburst (Channel 4).
 

Tom has composed music for the theatre and concert hall, including Isis (prem: String Quartet of Opera North), Omnia Mutantur (prem: Mieko Kanno), Timepiece (prem: Firebird Ensemble), Green Room (prem: Fresh Festival), Henry V (for Wilde Community Theatre Company) and Avalon (for Artemis Studios).  He orchestrated and musically directed the national revival of Oh What A Lovely War as well five original scores for pantomime by various composers.

 

His other work as a musical director includes By Jeeves (EBOS), Summer Holiday (Wilde Community Theatre Company), The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (Royal Berkshire Academy), Aladdin (The Broadway Barking) and Sleeping Beauty (Freeflow Productions).
 

Tom’s credits as a theatre director include Misery (Blackeyed Theatre), The Importance of Being Oscar, Talking Heads (South Hill Park), The Tempest (Wilde Community Theatre Company) and his own adaptation of Jerome K. Jerome’s Three Men In A Boat.
