Blackeyed Theatre presents
Art
by Yasmina Reza
Translated by Christopher Hampton
Director Martin Jady
Cast Ian Crump,
Adrian McDougall, Paul Taylor
How would you feel about your best friend if they did something so colossally stupid, it made you doubt the very basis of your friendship? Serge has bought an expensive work of abstract art - a large painting consisting of white lines on a white canvas. For friend Marc, ‘colossally stupid’ doesn’t quite cut it. Suddenly, with the unsuspecting Yvan caught in the crossfire, Marc and Serge are plunged into a hilarious exploration of strange modern art and even stranger modern friendships.
“With the clever minimalist stage set whereby simply changing the one painting it
then denoted each man’s house, Adrian McDougall, Paul Taylor and Ian Crump for Blackeyed
Theatre did the play proud with three very fine performances in what is a very funny
but thought-provoking drama... a superb production”
